Where it started
Sand Lark and Larkville
Larkville is a leather goods brand with its own workshop, where every wallet is cut and hand-stitched. Sand Lark LLC is the official US store for Larkville: the two companies share the same owners, and Sand Lark sells, ships and supports Larkville wallets in the United States.
Most wallets look worse the day after you buy them — corners peel, stitching comes loose, and the "leather" is often bonded scraps. Larkville wallets are built the other way: full-grain cowhide from tanneries in Bangladesh, finished as oil pull-up or crazy horse, with edges stitched by hand.
Every wallet is checked by a person in the workshop before it ships. If a stitch isn't right, it doesn't go out.
How it's made

Panels are cut by hand from a single piece of hide, matched for grain and color before stitching begins.

Edges are hand-stitched and burnished for a finish that won't fray or peel after a few months of use.

Every wallet is inspected by hand before it's boxed — the ones that don't pass never make it to checkout.
The materials
One hide, two finishes
Every Larkville wallet is cut from full-grain leather — the top layer of the hide, with the grain left intact. What changes is the finish, and how it ages on you.
Full-grain oil pull-up leather
Oil-tanned hide that lightens where it bends and settles back as the oils move. Smooth to start, and it darkens evenly with use. This is the Heritage.
Full-grain crazy horse leather
The same hide, finished with a hot wax that pulls up lighter when flexed — a two-tone, worn-in look from day one. This is the Wayfarer, Drifter and Foundry.
